6 to 8 pieces of cut up chicken
The marinade:

1 cup soy sauce

1 teaspoon ginger finely chopped or 1/4 teaspoon ginger powder

2 teaspoons chopped onion

4 garlic cloves, well mashed

1/2 teaspoon each powdered cinnamon, garlic, and cloves

1 tablespoon sugar

1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Marinade for 1 hour at room temperature. Charcoal broil or cook in the oven at 325F until golden. (about 1 hour)
Serve with plain rice or sticky rice and salad or Vietnamese pickles
